You probably don’t have to be an alcoholic to be a writer, but a stiff drink – or ten – every now & then sometimes helps get the juices flowing. Inspired by a weekend of debauchery and creativity in 2011, this event – aptly and simply named Drinking, Reading, Writing – featured author Johannes Thies as the master of ceremony. Hot off the heels of a whirlwind reading tour for his second book, “Information – Buch Eins: Loslassen” the hobo boho neo-beat author wanted to turn the tables on his audience and let them do the writing, reading and heavy drinking. Together with a band of merry pranksters, he opened the writing stage to the audience’s imagination, spurning a marginal mix of situationist narratives, dadaistic drivel and polytoxic plagiarism.
